This racer is powered by a standard cordless screwdriver and apart from the gear wheel, wheels, chain and a few screws, the entire vehicle was designed on a computer and produced entirely by 3D printing – in one piece. 3D printing is the only technique for making bionic structures from nature that save weight while being highly stable. The total weight of the car’s printed parts is only about 8.3 kilograms. The weight of the complete racer is only 13,4 kg. This vehicle is a interesting idea for electromobility, because the weigh is linked to range and speed. Intriguingly, the black racer is the first vehicle to be built by 3D printing.
